i have bean a x-tremely goode bhoy this yeer and have dun evry thing that my ma and pa has told me to do; i has even eatin all my vegi tables (xcept for peas cuz they r like YUK!)
i was hoping that cuz i has been so goode, u could send me my bestest ever cristmus prezent this year... last year i only got 14 pairs of green soks from my nana, which is really weird cuz she iz dead.

Brilliant site, great idea and wonderful (if slightly un-hinged) peoples.
I've had the usual mix of ups and downs (mostly downs ) and have (on more than one occasion) flirted with the temptation of 'rage quitting'  in utter frustration and despair and joining a monastery in outer-mongolia.
It's taken a year and a bit, but I've finally come to realise that it's not about the money or even the lure of the bright shineys; it's the community and the 'buzz' I get when I drop a few meagre tokens into the bonks, mini-bonks or promo's and the inevitable adrenaline rush of waiting in anticipation and daring to hope (if only for a little while) that I'll hit the jackpot and be rich and famous, if only fleetingly...
Props to Somer and the hardworking crew therein - you know who you are.
Thanks for a great site and an awesome 100T, here's looking forward to the next 100T. |

Blinks, Megablinks, Gigablinks and now ULTRAblinks
It's all starting to affect my nocturnal respite;
Had a dream last night where I scraped together 6m ISK, deposited it into Blink and received 6 tokens. Bought 3 x Claw tickets at 2m each and won a Claw valued at 10.8m. Placed 0.5m on a Bonk ticket and won a Guardian Vexor (which I gave to Swedish Spaceman ), placed 5 tokens on a mini-bonk and won a year of Plex (which I gave to Pandora Neoborn) and placed 1 token on a promo and won an Estamael Modified Invulnerability Field (which I gave to 4EPEMYXA Saisima); which left me with an overall 800K ISK profit!!! And all was good in the world.
Then I woke up and realised the dog had pooped on the bed again whilst I was sleeping

While visions of Gigablinks danced in their heads,
And Dilligafmofo in her kerchief and I in my cap,
Had just settled down for a long winter's nap.
When out in the lawn there arose such a clatter,
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open shutters and threw up the sash.
And what to my wondering eyes did appear,
But an Avatar Bonk, and eight tiny mini-bonks;
With a little old driver, so lively and quick,
I knew in a moment it must be Somerset Mahm.
More rapid than eagles her mini-bonks they came.
She whistled and shouted and called them by name:
"Now Andrev! Now Grammar! Now Sylvie! Now Belinda!
On, Blinkin! On, Blinking! On, Swedish Spaceman and Zaelle!
To the top of the porch, to the top of the wall
Dash away, dash away, dash away all!"
Up to the house-top the mini-bonks they flew
With a sleigh full of Ultra-blinks and Somerset Mahm, too.
And then in a twinkling I heard on the roof
All the clattering noise of each galloping hoof.
All bundled in fur, from her head to her foot,
Her clothes were all tarnished with ashes and soot;
As I drew in my head, and was turning around,
Down the chimney Somerset Mahm came with a bound.
A bundle of Ultra-blinks she had flung on her back,
And she looked like a peddler just opening her pack.
She spoke not a word, but went straight to her work,
And filled all the stockings; then turned with a jerk,
And laying her finger aside of her nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney she rose.
She sprang to her sleigh, to her team gave a whistle,
And away they all flew like the down of a thistle.
But I heard her exclaim 'ere she drove out of sight,
"Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!"

This evening, on the anniversary of being made redundant in rl , and with very little hope of finding a job anytime soon , I was feeling particularly (and I might add; unusually) low.
As a result, I mentioned in the Somer Blink channel that as I had approximately 4-weeks left on my Eve subscription, and would be unable to continue playing Eve after that time, I would probably be selling my character and giving away the proceeds in channel games (Somer willing ofc).
I have to be honest; the response was both instantaneous and absolutely amazing. Within minutes I was inundated with e-mails, convo's, messages of support / condolences, deposits and enough plex contracts to have kept me going for another 12 months!
Being much too proud to accept these handouts (however generous and well-meaning) I returned all said deposits and did not accept the contracts).
I will not name my generous benefactors without their consent; suffice it say that there are many, many, unbelievably generous, kind-hearted and magnanimous individuals out their who, without a moments hesitation, were willing to help out a complete stranger (for no material or selfish gain) simply because he was going through a bad patch in RL.
'Tis only pixels' be damned; behind the carefully sculpted avatars, killboard stats, alliance affiliations and playstyles; you guys made me realise that New Eden isn't half as bad as some would have us believe. And to the real flesh and blood people behind the pixels I would like to say THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.
As a result of this rather cathartic experience; I will hold off on selling my toon and re-double my efforts on finding another job in rl in order to somehow acknowledge your amazing generosity and support.
